Several years ago, the library began buying copies of Callaway County newspapers on microfilm. Two microfilm reader/printers were also purchased to make it possible to view and print articles. Researchers using this equipment can find articles about any historic event if the date of the event can be determined.
Librarians began to index files from the newspaper clipping cabinets in the fall of 2004. Researchers can quickly find the correct date of many articles with this index. This is an ongoing project and is far from complete.
